Winter Birch Trees

Great use of several watercolor techniques and adding textures!  We started with a  horizon line and removable tape, then the watercolor fun began.  The students were able to experiment with wet into wet techniques and added salt to the wet paint and observed

the results.  After the paint dried we added texture to the trees and also painted shadows with black watercolor. For a final touch, each student framed their trees on black paper and added hand drawn snowflakes.
