Third Grade

Third Grade has been studying tints and shades in color.  We tied in the beautiful month of January and discussed Northern Lights and why we can see them in the Winter months.  Each group of 3rd graders used a different color for their tints.  One group used turquoise, one used Magenta, and the last  used violet.  Each student needed to add 3 different tints to their Art piece.  After the paint dried, the students used a previously learned skill of drawing trees with the 'Y' method.  The trees were painted with shades of brown, and a shadow of the  tree was also added.
