First Grade

First Grade Art students were inspired by the book 'The Perfect Snowflake" by Jacqueline East.  For this lesson we reviewed the Art principles of Pattern.  Each student needed to fill at least 5 spaces with a differing pattern or line.  They also created

a color pattern with their Crayola Construction Paper Crayons.  Then the 1st graders outlined each pencil line after they were done coloring.  The final touch was a paper snowflake that they learned how to make.  I think the snowflake was a definite favorite!
