Color Wheel Caterpillars
Kindergarten was introduced to the differences between primary and secondary colors with this lesson. First, we folded our 12 x 18 papers into 6 squares. Then we marked each square with a color of the basic color wheel. After painting each square a differing color, we traced circles onto each color. Then Kindergarteners drew a different kind of line inside each circle. Lastly, we cut them all out and arranged them in color wheel order to create our Caterpillars. I loved hearing the students talk about which color should come next in color wheel order.
